PC #44: Homegrown eggs in grandma’s basket (Croft House Tales)

FI – 1369885

This postcard was sent by Juho spring of 2012. 😉 Juho is grandfather to a 3-year old little girl.

On the card it says: “As the days grew longer the hens began laying eggs again. Fresh eggs marked the beginning of spring at the croft house. Boiled eggs were part of the Easter feast along with gold colored pancakes. Homegrown eggs in grandma’s basket in Western Finland.”

They sure love pancakes up there in the cold north!

The stamp features Helsinki as the World’s Design Capital in 2012. Thanks, Juho!
